Establishing Business Trips Procedure in Lithuania Jun 27
According to the Lithuanian Labour Code, if during the business trip the employee has additional costs (e.g. transport, travel, accommodation), these costs have to be compensated by the employer. If no advance agreement has been made on the business trip formalization, the calculation of daily allowances, reimbursement of business trip expenses and other important matters, the employee has the right to choose accommodation and employer has to cover the costs.
In order to avoid legal disputes between the employee and the employer, it is recommended to set up official Business Trips Procedure in the company that sets the formal grounds of business trips.
